We're excited to support William de Wilde on his "On the Verge" project!
A distinguished artist and SBA Fellow, William’s work focuses on the vital role of Britain’s roadside verges as habitats for rare and endangered native plants. His 2025 project will document and illustrate wildflowers growing in Sussex verges, aiming to raise awareness of their ecological importance.
Why This Project Matters:
-Recording the beauty and diversity of wild plants growing in verges
-Highlighting the critical role verges play in supporting pollinators & biodiversity
-Using botanical art to inspire conservation efforts & community action
-Encouraging local councils to protect and rewild these spaces
Follow along William’s journey and the incredible flora he documents!
